SHe-Box registration service for employers
SHe-Box (shebox.wcd.gov.in) is the centralised Ministry of Women & Child Development portal for lodging and tracking sexual-harassment complaints; registering an organisation on it is a distinct step from constituting an Internal Committee under the POSH Act, and one the Ministry treats as mandatory for every workplace, private ones included. We handle the Head Office Registration, nodal-officer nomination, and the ongoing record as branches and IC memberships change, for ₹25,000, one-time.
What SHe-Box is
An earlier version of the portal was in use by 2019. The current portal was launched on 29 August 2024 as a central record of Internal and Local Committees across government and the private sector. Since then, the Supreme Court's orders in Aureliano Fernandes v. State of Goa & Ors., starting on 3 December 2024, have directed States to survey public and private workplaces for Internal Committees and to put that data on SHe-Box.
Is registration mandatory?
The Ministry of Women and Child Development's SHe-Box FAQ says onboarding is "mandatory for all workplaces including private entities", grounding it in the duty to constitute an Internal Committee (s.4) and the Supreme Court's orders in Aureliano Fernandes. The Act and Rules themselves don't mention SHe-Box, and there is no single national notification. In practice, every employer with an Internal Committee should register.

If a regulator licenses you
Check your regulator's own circulars too. Where a sectoral regulator sets POSH or SHe-Box requirements for the entities it licenses, those apply to every branch, whichever State it is in. We check this against your licence category at scoping.
The Uttar Pradesh position
Noida sits in Gautam Buddh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, not Delhi, so the Delhi notice doesn't by itself reach a UP establishment. A Gautam Buddh Nagar order on SHe-Box registration is widely reported, but we haven't found it published by the district, so we don't rely on it. It doesn't change the answer: the Ministry treats onboarding as mandatory for every workplace, and every district has been directed to survey employers for Internal Committees. A Noida employer with 10 or more workers should register.
An NCR employer with a Delhi office is separately covered by the Delhi notice for that office. And if your sector's regulator sets its own requirement, that applies to every branch, whichever district it is in.
We haven't found a State-wide Uttar Pradesh notification of the kind Delhi has issued. We confirm your district's position at scoping rather than assume it.

SHe-Box registration adds to an organisation's existing obligations under the POSH Act — the appointment order, the IC composition, the annual report. It replaces none of them.

- We do not treat SHe-Box registration as a substitute for IC constitution under s.4 — the two obligations run in parallel.
- We do not assert a UP/Noida registration mandate that we have not verified.

We have offices in both Delhi and Noida — are we covered?
Register both. The Delhi office is covered by the Delhi public notice of 12 June 2025; for the Noida office, the Ministry's position applies. Each office's Committee is recorded on its own footing.
Our regulator requires SHe-Box registration — does the state position still matter?
A regulator's requirement applies to every branch, whichever State it is in, so check its circular alongside any State or district direction. We confirm this against your licence category at scoping.
We already have a constituted IC — do we still need SHe-Box registration?
Yes. The Ministry treats onboarding as mandatory for every workplace, and unless your Committee's details are on the portal, complaints can't be routed to it there. Registration adds to the Committee; it doesn't replace it.
What documents do we need to register?
The head-office form asks for the organisation's name, type, address, pincode, mobile and email; the Nodal Officer's name, designation, mobile and email; and one supporting document: the company registration number, GST number or company PAN.
Who should be the Nodal Officer?
Typically the HR head. The role need not be filled by a member of the Internal Committee.
How long does District Nodal Officer verification take?
This depends on the district; we track it once filed but the timeline itself is set by the District Nodal Officer.
Can we add branch offices to the registration later?
Yes — branches and IC member details are added to the registration record after the initial Head Office Registration and credential issuance.
